Living Word Bibles is an indie Bible publisher situated in the heartland of the Midwestern United States. From our home office in Carmel, Indiana, we craft beautiful editions of The Holy Bible that are simple, elegant, & reverent — and built to be read often — at home, in church, & on the go.
Since 2000, we’ve operated www.the-holy-bible.online, one of the largest free online Bible website in the world. Our aim has always been access: to put God’s Word within reach of anyone, anywhere, without cost barriers. You can read or download any of our Bibles online subject to our Creative Commons License, making study and sharing easy for pastors, laypersons, Bible study groups, and churches alike.

Our Team
Ms. Sophie Keller | Executive Director
Born in 1999 in Manila, the Philippines, Sophie moved to the United States in 2001 with her family and grew up in Carmel, Indiana. Her father worked for Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, and her mother worked part-time at their local church. Sophie was formed by the worshiping life of Living Truth Church in Carmel. She later attended Indiana Wesleyan University, majoring in Theology, where an early desire for pastoral ministry matured into a call to serve the Church by putting the Gospel in people’s hands.
At Living Word Bibles, Sophie leads strategy, partnerships, and publishing operations to advance a simple conviction: God’s Word should be accessible to everyone—freely and in formats people actually use. She resonates with LWB’s non-denominational posture and its commitment to share the Bible across devices and platforms so readers can study, teach, and worship with clarity.
Today, Sophie’s focus is on quality, readability, and reach—shaping beautiful print & digital editions, drafting stunning newsletters, stewarding open access to the Gospel, and inviting the next generation to encounter the Living Word of God.

There are many translations of the Bible, thousands in fact. However, at Living Word Bibles, we focus on classic, best-selling translations, such as the King James Version (KJV), New King James Version (NKJV), New International Version (NIV), English Standard Version (ESV), American Standard Version (ASV), Young’s Literal Translation (YLT), the World English Bible (WEB), public domain Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible (BRB), and several others. Our Online Bible is EASY to Use! If you need to view the Directory/Table of Contents at anytime, you can select it from the dropdown menu, or click the LWB logo at the top of the screen. You can also easily navigate through Books & Chapters of the Bible using the search function, dropdown menu, or “Books” tab. This is a feature we implemented in Build v1.2 Alpha, and is available on the KJV, NKJV, NIV, ESV, and most of our other Bibles. The Prev/Next functions take you to the next Verse/Chapter. You can also now switch between a verse-by-verse to a chapter-by-chapter reading format by clicking the “Verse/Chapter” button. There is also a “Dice” button which generates a random Scripture verse. The A+/A- buttons increase/decrease the font size of the reader respectively. Having technical issues with our reader? Contact Us.

Our iOS App is available for download here. It is compatible with all iOS devices; iPhone, iPad, Mac, and has been tested on Google Chrome on Android & on PC.

The underlying public domain text for most Bibles (KJV, ASV, YLT, WEB, etc.) is free to use & quote without restriction, however, some Bible translations are subject to Copyright Restrictions, & our eBibles & print bibles are protected by Copyright, and none of our products may be used for commercial purposes or for-profit without a Commercial Use License. You are free to share, quote, study, and use our Bibles listed in the Download section for personal use, study groups, and church functions without restriction, subject to our Creative Commons Share-Alike License.
