America is a nation with a remarkable history, an extraordinary inheritance, and a future that depends upon each generation understanding what came before it.

The Holy Bible has brought comfort to generations in times of hardship, wisdom in times of uncertainty, strength in times of trial, and hope when the path ahead seemed difficult. Its words have been read in churches, homes, schools, hospitals, battlefields, prisons, and countless places where men & women have turned to Almighty God for guidance.

We live in a time when the world is moving very quickly. Technology is changing. Governments change. Leaders come and go. Nations rise and nations fall. But the Word of God has endured.

That is something very powerful.

The Bible teaches us about faith, courage, sacrifice, forgiveness, justice, mercy, family, leadership, and the difference between right and wrong. It tells us about great victories and terrible failures. It tells us about people who remained faithful when the world was against them and people who discovered that enormous success means very little if you lose your way.

Most importantly, the Bible directs our hearts and our minds toward Almighty God.

Our Founding Fathers created an extraordinary system of government, but they understood something fundamental: government does not give us our most basic rights. Our rights come from our Creator. Government has the responsibility to respect and protect those rights.

We can never forget the soldiers who defended our country on battlefields around the world. We can never forget the families who waited for them at home. We can never forget the Americans who built our cities, worked our farms, started businesses, raised families, founded churches, created charities, taught our children, and made this country stronger with every generation.

America became a great nation because generations of Americans believed that liberty was worth defending, family was worth protecting, faith was worth practicing, and the future was worth building.

Those values still endure today.

When America remembers who we are, when our families are strong, when our people are free, when our churches are open, when our citizens understand their rights, and when we are not ashamed to put our trust in Almighty God, there is no limit to what our country can accomplish.

That is the American spirit.
